What is the Plus / Delta retrospective?

Plus / Delta is the shortest retrospective format: Plus for what worked, Delta for what to change. The Greek delta signals change rather than failure, which keeps the tone constructive. With only two columns it fits at the end of a workshop, a meeting or an incident review in ten minutes.

The columns

  1. Plus
  2. Delta

When to use it

Use it for quick retros after events, workshops, trainings or big meetings, as a lightweight weekly check, or when the team is too tired for a full retro but should still capture lessons.

How to run it in Peel in 5 steps

  1. Create a Plus · Delta board and put the link (or the QR code) on screen.
  2. Give three or four minutes to write; short is the point.
  3. Reveal the cards and group the Deltas.
  4. Vote on Deltas and discuss only the top one or two.
  5. Write one action, assign an owner, and thank people for the Pluses.

Frequently asked questions

Why delta and not minus?

Delta means change. A Delta card describes what to do differently next time, not what was bad, which keeps feedback forward-looking.

Can I use it for workshop feedback?

Yes. Participants join from the link without an account, and cards stay anonymous by default.
