What is the Mountain Climb retrospective?
The Mountain Climb retro frames the team's work as an expedition: the Summit is the goal, Gear is what equips the team, Obstacles are what makes the climb hard, and Basecamp is where the team stands now. It is good for long goals where progress is gradual.

When to use it
Use it mid-way through a long project, for quarterly goals or OKRs, or when the team needs to see how far it has come.
Facilitator tip: draw the route in the board title, for example "Basecamp: beta live → Summit: 1,000 paying teams". Seeing the distance helps the team judge which obstacles really matter now and which ones belong to a later stage of the climb.
